About SBWNY
Spina Bifida of Western New York, Inc. is a registered 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization
that was founded in 1973 to address the specific needs of people with Spina Bifida and
their families in the Western New York area.
Our mission is to empower people affected by Spina Bifida to live full and enriched lives,
by offering a community of strong relationships, support, and advocacy.
Our vision: To promote inclusivity, collaborate with the community and to provide
support through social events, presentations, networking, grants and overall advocacy
to children and adults and their families who are living in Western New York who are
affected by Spina Bifida.
The Spina Bifida of Western New York is an all-volunteer organization run by a board of
directors, made up of individuals with Spina Bifida, parents of individuals with Spina
Bifida and community members. Together, we provide assistance, support, networking,
advocacy and education to families in all 8 counties of Western New York: Erie,
Niagara, Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Orleans, Wyoming, and Genesee.
